Reserved for individuals of exceptional dedication and impact, The Canadian Conservation Leadership Award represents the highest level of recognition bestowed upon those whose work has profoundly advanced the conservation of Canada’s wildlife and natural resources. Eligible nominees from all sectors are those who have demonstrated sustained leadership, integrity and measurable achievement through effective and responsible actions that conserve, enhance and secures Canada’s ecological future.
Created in honour of Roland Michener – former Governor General of Canada, devoted outdoorsman, and Past Honorary President of CWF – this award embodies a legacy of principled leadership, national service and an unwavering commitment to the stewardship of Canada’s national heritage. To be nominated for the Canadian Conservation Leadership Award is to be considered among the foremost champions of conservation in Canada.

Any individuals with a long-standing record of exceptional conservation impact in Canada.
Past Recipients of the Roland Michener Conservation Award
The Roland Michener Conservation Award was established in 1978 by the Canadian Wildlife Federation as a tribute to the former governor general of Canada, the Right Honourable Roland Michener, an outstanding outdoorsperson and past honorary president of the federation.
