Recognizes excellence in Nature-based Education and public engagement that inspires understanding and action.
The Canadian Nature-Based Education Champion Award celebrates individuals, schools, organizations, institutions, programs and collaborative initiatives that are strengthening Canada’s Nature-based Education ecosystem. This award honours those who inspire excellence in conservation through immersive, hands-on learning in nature.
Potential nominees include those who have made outstanding contributions to developing or delivering formal, non-formal, or informal education programs for participants of any age that foster a deep understanding of wildlife conservation, instill environmental stewardship, and connect Canadians to the natural world.
Recipients will ideally demonstrate more than just strong program delivery. They should develop partnerships, strengthen local capacity, share leadership across communities and generations, and create pathways that help everyone living in Canada to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to act for wildlife and habitats.
