Celebrating dedicated individuals at the forefront of conservation progress, the Canadian Conservation Innovation Award recognizes the innovators whose bold ideas, transformative partnerships and pioneering approach are redefining what is possible for Canada’s natural heritage. Reserved for individuals, teams, organizations, and cross-sector collaborations of exceptional caliber, this distinguished award is bestowed upon those whose ingenuity and strategic thinking are driving measurable, lasting advancements in the conservation of Canada’s wildlife and natural resources. Recipients exemplify innovation not merely in concept, but in impact—setting new standards, inspiring collective action, and shaping the future of conservation nationwide. This award is bestowed in recognition of the many Past Presidents of CWF in honour of their significant contribution toward the conservation of wildlife in Canada.
Eligibility
Any individual, team, organization, or cross-sector partnership driving innovative approaches to the conservation of Canada’s wildlife and natural resources.
Past Recipients for the Doug Clarke Memorial Award
The federation introduced the Doug Clarke Memorial Award in 1982 in memory of Dr. C.H.D. “Doug” Clarke. Dr. Clarke devoted his career to the philosophy, science and art of wildlife management throughout the world. At the time of his death in 1981, he was a director of the Canadian Wildlife Federation. This award is presented to a Canadian Wildlife Federation affiliate for the most outstanding conservation project by the affiliate, its clubs, or its members.
