  • Why Birds Matter

    2026-10-07

Join CWF and special guest, Dr. David Bird, to discover how you can help birds and why it is so important. In 2019 a study involving American and Canadian scientists revealed that North America has lost almost three billion birds in the last fifty years! Today, more than one-third of all Canadian bird species are facing decline in their populations. Grassland species are down by 67%, aerial insectivores by 43% and shorebirds by 42%, while waterfowl and raptors enjoy a resurgence. The obvious culprits are habitat loss and degradation, climate change and various human-made threats. But why should we even care? And if we do, what can we do about it?

  • Gardening for Pollinators Webinar

Learn about Canada’s seven kinds of pollinators and their importance in our daily lives. We’ll also give you lots of simple yet powerful tips to help these tiny allies in your outdoor space and resources to help you along. We hope to see you there!
