Gerry joined the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) in 1986 and ran a Get Outdoors Youth group in Powassan. He also has been on the Powassan Recreation Committee since 2007 and has worked on trails and other outdoor events with the Municipality. He is currently the Vice Chair of the committee.
Gerry’s life is steeped in tradition. Born and raised in Powassan, Ontario, Gerry Giesler grew up hunting, fishing and trapping. When he is not hunting, fishing, or volunteering, you will find him at his shop building cedar strip boats which is a family business started by his Grandfather in 1927.
