Nominations now being accepted for CWF True North Wildlife Conservation Awards
OTTAWA, April 8, 2026 – The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) is proud to announce the launch of its re-imagined CWF True North Wildlife Conservation Awards program, now open for nominations through May 15, 2026.
The CWF True North Wildlife Conservation Awards celebrate outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication to wildlife and habitat conservation across Canada. Nominations are invited in six categories that recognize individuals and organizations making meaningful contributions to the protection of the country’s natural heritage:
- Canadian Conservation Leadership Award
- Canadian Conservation Innovation Award
- Canadian Nature-Based Education Champion Award
- Canadian Youth for Wildlife Conservation Award
- Canadian Wild Media Impact Award
- Canadian Wildlife Impact Award
New this year, the Wild Media Impact Award reflects the growing influence of creative media in inspiring conservation action and raising awareness about wildlife issues. The accompanying $1,000 research grant underscores CWF’s commitment to empowering recipients to further their impact.
“These awards highlight the remarkable breadth and depth of conservation efforts taking place across Canada,” said Sean Southey, Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Wildlife Federation. “From educators and innovators to volunteers and youth leaders, we are honoured to recognize those whose passion and commitment are helping to safeguard our natural heritage for generations to come.”
