Welcome,

ROW as Habitat ANNUAL WORKSHOP 2021

Restoring Pollinator Habitat on Rights-of-Way

Online Workshop

Tuesday, March 23 to Thursday April 8, 2021

Come join your peers to learn about the latest in opportunities to restore habitat in rights-of-way (ROW). Many organizations are finding this a positive way to address various issues such as invasive species management, lowering the bottom line in municipal budgets, as well as demonstrating social responsibility to customers and public citizens. We know you care about the environment – come and meet others who do also!

Our annual ROW as Habitat Workshop will be online this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. The online workshop will open up opportunities to meet other ROW managers in Ontario and beyond. The workshop offers training in how to restore pollinator habitat. We cover vegetation management, restoration steps for both roads and other rights-of-way and include both bare ground and mowing strategies. We’ll also be learning from the U.S. Rights-of-Way as Habitat Working Group (ROWHWG) in Chicago and will be officially launching the Canadian Chapter of this organization during the workshop.

We’re offering four online sessions for all Rights of Way (ROW) managers, 90 minutes each: Mar. 23, 25 and 30 as well as April 6. An additional networking session will be held for Eastern Ontario ROW managers on April 8. You can attend them all or pick and choose to suit your schedule. Each session features new content.
