Stage 1: Winter Wonderland in Algonquin, Ontario

For this winter adventure, CCC participants will embark on a thrilling – and chilling – outdoor winter adventure of a lifetime. This CCC expedition includes backcountry snowshoeing and dog sledding through Ontario’s picturesque Algonquin Park – sleeping in heated tents some nights, enjoying full-on outdoor winter camping on others. Members will learn the skills they need to travel safely and comfortably in the winter months – from knowing what to wear to stay warm and dry, to mushing a team of sled dogs. This is more than winter camping – this trip is designed to be an incredible and indelible journey of self-discovery.

Stage 2: Conservation
Field Learning

During Stage 2, The Wolfpack members will spend three months in individual field learning placements with partners in conservation across Canada.

Stage 3: Outreach and Service

COLIN STARKEVICH

Edmonton, AB

Developed a nest box program that distributed free nest boxes for small owls and waterfowl species in Edmonton. The boxes were distributed free to individuals as well as to the Birds of Prey Centre in Edmonton to provide nesting for injured or orphaned birds of prey.

“The program allows a lot of passionate, like-minded people (from CCC participants to the supervisors) with an interest in conservation to come together and inspire one another. My CCC experience has taught me a lot of skills for success to use in my Stage 3 project and moving forward with my own like. I am extremely grateful for all the amazing new people I met through my CCC experience. “
