Conservation in Action
CWF invites you to honour your nature heroes by nominating them for the Canadian Conservation Achievement Awards.
Recipients may be featured in an upcoming issue of Canadian Wildlife and Biosphère magazine and be invited to receive their award at our Annual Awards Banquet.
Accepting Nominations from November 1 — January 31.
Here are the Canadian Conservation Achievement Award categories. CHOOSE ONE - Nominating one person/group in multiple categories may lead to their disqualification:
- Conservation in Action: Individual who has demonstrated commitment to conservation through activities that further the conservation of Canada’s natural resources.
- Conservation Through Fisheries: Individual who has made a contribution to furthering the sport of angling and/or the conservation, development and wise use of Canada’s recreational fisheries is eligible for this award.
- Canadian Legislators in Action: Individual who is a provincial, territorial, or federal elected legislator in Canada who has made a significant contribution to the conservation of wildlife in Canada.
- Outstanding Affiliate Conservation Project: Any conservation project by any Canadian Wildlife Federation affiliate, its clubs, or its members. To be eligible, the project must be nominated by the affiliate not by an individual member.
- Outdoorsperson of the Year: Any outdoorsperson who has demonstrated an active commitment to wildlife conservation in Canada through their outstanding leadership.
- Youth in Action: Any youth or youth group who have participated in a wildlife or habitat conservation project, or activity in Canada. Effective Nov. 1, 2024 this award is for youth 18 and under at the time of nomination or for groups serving youth 18 and under in Canada.
- Conservation Mentors: Any individual or group who has made significant contribution in creating or presenting programs that are dedicated toward Youth in Canada.
- Conservation in the Arts: Any individual or group that brings awareness to wildlife conservation in Canada through an artistic means.
- Wild Educator of the Year: Any WILD Education facilitator or instructor who utilizes CWF’s education programming to provide meaningful experiences for youth in Canada.
Past Recipients
Recipients of CWF's Conservation Achievement Awards are featured in Canadian Wildlife and Biosphère magazines available on newsstands and by subscription.
