Welcome,

Exciting News: Amanda Reed Joins Our CWF Team as the New Chief Conservation Officer!

We are thrilled to announce that Amanda Reed has joined our team in the new role of Chief Conservation Officer (CCO).

As a key member of the Executive Team, the Chief Conservation Officer is responsible for leading our conservation and education efforts. The CCO will head a multidisciplinary team of educational, scientific, and technical conservation professionals to implement evidence-based conservation and education strategies that make meaningful improvements in wildlife and habitat conservation, foster public engagement, and enrich Canada’s conservation ethic.

Additionally, the CCO will play a pivotal role in cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and rightsholders – including government agencies, foundations, corporations, environmental NGOs, academic institutions, and Indigenous organizations – to influence policy and maximize our conservation impact. The CCO also will collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and execute conservation programs and funding models that leverage partnerships, drive public engagement, advance wildlife and habitat protection, and support long-term sustainability.

With more than 20 years of conservation leadership, Amanda brings deep experience in conservation science, public policy, Indigenous partnerships, and strategic advocacy. She joins us from Nature United (the Canadian affiliate of The Nature Conservancy), where she led national initiatives to advance nature-based climate solutions and support Indigenous-led conservation, helping to secure historic federal investments and build cross-sector partnerships.

Amanda holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where she focused on international business and strategy, and a BA from Colgate University. Her career has spanned local to global conservation work, including serving as Executive Director of Capitol Land Trust in Washington State. A strategic and values-driven leader, she’s known for uniting diverse stakeholders to drive lasting impact for nature and communities alike.

Please join us in welcoming Amanda to CWF. We look forward to the positive impact she will make and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

Stay tuned for more updates and join us in celebrating this fantastic addition to our team!
