A retired school teacher and avid outdoorsmen, Ward has been involved in many successful conservation initiatives. He has incorporated both his practical and academic knowledge and applied it to student outdoor education. He has two sons, Ryan and James and lives in Main Brook, Nfld. with his wife Elaine.
