Mike Wilson is a Canadian leader in environmental and economic policy, conservation finance, and sustainability innovation. He spent about a decade leading the Smart Prosperity Institute, helping build it into one of Canada’s leading voices on the intersection of the environment and the economy. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles in the Government of Canada, where he helped create the federal clean air agenda, led Environment Canada’s environmental assessment program, and advanced public-private partnerships to integrate sustainability into investment decisions. He has also contributed to national conservation and natural climate solutions efforts, including serving on Canada’s Nature Advisory Committee and collaborating on work to unlock the economic potential of natural climate solutions for communities, landholders, and investors.
