Her favourite pastimes involve time outdoors developing skills, fishing, canoeing, hunting, bird watching and gardening with birds and pollinators in mind.
Maya holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree as well as Diplomas in Environmental Assessment and Ecological Restoration and Rehabilitation at the University of Waterloo (UW). She is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Environment, Resources & Sustainability.
Moreover, Maya is a Provincial Director-at-Large and Chair of the Small Game, Migratory Birds & Wetlands Advisory Committee with the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters (OFAH), and is involved with several working groups of the IUCN.
