Born and raise in the Edmonton area, Faran spent much of his life working a 750 acre farmland with his father and son. A master Electrician and Refrigeration Mechanic by trade, he also spent 25 years working alongside his father in an electrical business. He’s currently semi-retired from the trade.
Faran is proud of his volunteer work. He was the Youth Director for National Farmers’ Union, Region 7 (Alberta) for two years as well as a 4-H Leader for 27 years, mentoring youth in pheasant raising, small engines, beef breeding, and market steer projects.
He also held the position of Bird/Fish Chair, Vice-president, and President of local Alberta Wildlife Federation club, Zone Programs Chair in AFGA, as well as the AFGA Zone 4 Director, and interim AFGA Zone 6 Director.
Faran is still dedicated to serving his community by volunteering as the AFGA 1st Vice President, serving on the Teck Coal Trails Committee and on the Board of Directors of AFGA Wildlife Trust Fund.
