With a strong educational background from the University of Toronto, Lambton College, and the University of Calgary, Emily set out to use her knowledge to make a difference in the community. As a teacher of Math and Science at a charter school in Calgary, she guided students in exploring their concerns about the environment and nature, with a significant focus on the Boreal Forest, wetlands, and endangered species such as the whooping crane.
Emily has also been a leader in the volunteer sector, in the Scouts Canada program, including as a Beaver and Cub leader, a Junior Forest Wardens leader, always passionate about outdoor education to young people. Additionally, she has served on the Board of St John Ambulance in Sarnia-Lambton, and as their Therapy Dog Coordinator, and the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, She currently serves on a variety of sport shooting Boards and professional associations.
At this time Emily is a professor of Business Mathematics. She lives in Burlington, where she enjoys hiking on local trails, including the Bruce Trail, and appreciating the beauty of the Great Lakes.
