Clayton’s love for the great outdoors started as a child. He joined the Bras d’Or Wildlife Association when he was 12. At 25, he became president of the association, a position he held for over a decade while it was affiliated with the Nova Scotia Wildlife Association.
While raising four children with his wife, Paula, Clayton dedicated 18 years to his community as a little league coach, umpire, and league president, helping to shape and support local youth through baseball.
After his children moved on from the sport, Clayton returned to his passion for wildlife conservation. In recent years, he has been an active member of the Cape Breton Wildlife Association, working to protect wildlife, wetlands, and waterways across the island.
Currently, Clayton serves as the District Vice President of the Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers and Hunters for the Cape Breton area, continuing his lifelong commitment to conservation and community engagement.
