Bryce Bekar serves as a member of several boards and committees, including the Yukon Fish and Game Association, the Carcross Tagish Renewable Resource Council, and the volunteer Fire Chief of Tagish, Yukon. He’s had a successful career in northern telecommunications working with Governments and remote users to implement large scale solutions across northern Canada.
Bryce is also a long serving member of the Yukon Fish and Game Association Board of Directors. After five years as Vice-President, he was elected President of the Association in 2022. During his tenure with the YFGA, I worked tirelessly towards my goal creating a sustainable ecosystem where people and wildlife can thrive and protect it for future generations. Bryce has been active in working with stakeholders to design programs to prevent the spread of disease from domestic sheep to the population of wild sheep in Yukon and participated in the conservation of chinook salmon in the Yukon River basin. Through his work at events like Yukon Hunters Education workshops, Family Fishing Days, and the YFGA kids programs including the kids camp, he acted as a mentor and role model to the next generation, instilling the values and ethics of true outdoorsperson.
