Andrew is an avid outdoors enthusiast who believes passionately in protecting cultural, traditional and heritage activities such as the cod food fishery of NL. He volunteers with the Newfoundland and Labrador Wildlife Federation promoting the wise management of NL's wildlife and environment. The management of Canada's freshwater and marine ecosystems and the impact of aquatic invasive species has been a major concern for him over the years and has been a strong critic of the federal government's aquatic invasive species management plan. He has previously sat on the Canadian Science Advisory Secretariat for Atlantic salmon in Canada, and currently sits on the Salmon Advisory Council in NL, helping manage Atlantic salmon policy throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
He is the Chair of the Awards Committee for the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
