Habitat:
The whooping crane nests on the ground, usually on a raised area in a marsh.
Food sources:
The species is omnivorous, meaning it eats both plants and animals, including insects, fish, reptiles, crustaceans and reeds in marshes.
Fun fact:
The whooping crane stands about 1.5 metres tall, making it the tallest bird in North America.
