Students identify the plant origin for a number of common foods and find out which pollinating agent makes it possible. Older students also identify some of the threats to the processes of pollination.
Pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, moths and flies, play critical roles in ecosystems and in the production of our food.
Pollination is one of the most important ecological processes on the planet. But our pollinators are in trouble due to a loss of habitat, toxic chemicals, parasites, diseases and climate change.
