How many kits do female beavers give birth to in a year?
Sorry, try again.
Yes! One litter, averaging three or four kits, is born each year in May or June following a 100-day gestation period. The young measure about 125 mm long and weigh about 450 g. Although they are well-furred, have teeth already cut, and can see, walk, and swim when born, the kits generally don’t move out of the lodge for at least one month.
