What conservation issue is closest to your heart?
We can conserve so much yet we do so little. Wildfires can be solved with technology. Tsunamis can be solved with technology.
What are you hoping to learn from CCC?
I feel like it’s going to be a wild time meeting new people and enjoying adventure in new places.
Who/what inspired you to care about conservation?
My mind is driven by science and logic. The calculation of how long we have until our resources become zero is creeping up on us slowly but surely. The way we treat the only place we have to live made me want to do something for my grandchildren.
If you could sit down with anyone in the world and have tea or coffee, who would it be? And why?
Tea is my favourite substance, and the person would be Neil Tyson DeGrasse or Elon Musk. I want to collect some knowledge from these guys. They’ve put great contributions into this world. Their intellect had an impact on this world.

My Experience So Far

Rolling, Rolling...Rolling Down the River

Stage 1

Departing from Kozy Hollow Lodge (near Canterbury, NB), the 12th group of CCC participants head out on an expedition along part of an ancient portage trail that links the Chiputneticook Lakes to the Passamaquoddy Bay, canoeing a meandering route through the many small lakes and streams that dot the route. This area is known as a biodiversity hot spot where beaver lodges, moose, black bear and exceptional fishing are found, along with Class 1 and 2 rapids that increase the sense of adventure. Participants will experience pristine wilderness along the entire 130km route, winding up at Oak Bay Provincial Park on the Passamaquoddy Bay. It’s a trip of a lifetime and a great start to their Canadian Conservation Corps adventure.
