Q & A
Isabelle Bujold

Hometown:
Sherbrooke, QB
What conservation issue is closest to your heart?
The conservation issue that is closest to my heart would be wildlife and biodiversity preservation.
What are you hoping to learn from CCC?
I expect to gain field work experience and expertise. I want to develop practical skills that will help me distinguish myself in the academic and professional world. I would also like to learn from experts in the conservation field.
Who/what inspired you to care about conservation?
I would say that the long nights of watching Zaboomafoo and The Crocodile Hunter has sparked my fascination for animals. After that, I wanted to protect animal species, and by the same means, their habitat. In order to protect animal species, I needed to protect their home – the Earth!
If you could sit down with anyone in the world and have tea or coffee, who would it be? And why?
Jane Goodall. She has been an inspiration as a woman in science and as a conservationist. I would love to hear all about her time in Africa and everything she has accomplished in conservation.

My Experience So Far

Rocky Mountain Way

Stage 1

For their Stage One adventure, “The Mount10eers” will experience a 14-day hiking/backpacking trip through the Alberta Rocky Mountains. Heading deep into the Rockies, being surrounded by rugged peaks, glacier-carved valleys, mountain lakes and alpine meadows will provide great opportunity for reflection. The experience will teach safe and effective mountain travel, backpacking techniques, minimal-impact camping, navigation and compass work, route-finding skills and how to move across scree and snow-slopes. The journey will also provide a solo experience that can be entirely transformative.
