An avid outdoorsman, Val has worked on successful conservation initiatives such as fish ladders and hatcheries. He worked in the department of Finance and Administration for the Yukon government and now enjoys woodworking and being outdoors. Val has four children and three grandchildren and lives in Whitehorse, Yukon with his wife.
