Pierre Canac-Marquis learned to hunt, fish and trap when young and has become a highly skilled outdoor person who is committed to wildlife conservation and its place in our quality of life. He has spent 27 years of his life as the wild furbearers manager for the Québec ministère de la Faune. He has led in the Trapper Education program, Raccoon Rabies Control field operations in Quebec, and still coordinates the Canadian Humane Trap Research program, and the implementation in Canada of Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards through the Fur Institute of Canada over the last 15 years. His hard work has been awarded with the North American Furbearer Conservation Award.
