Stage 1

Departing from beautiful Tofino in Clayoquot Sound, British Columbia, the Canadian Conservation Corps cohorts in Group 9 will be enjoying 14 days of outdoor adventure. During their trip the CCC members will be honing their camping and outdoor skills while developing their paddling skills during a sea kayaking trip along B.C.’s Pacific coast. If the right conditions persist, Group 9 will also be incorporating a visit to the Cedar Coast Field Station, assisting in the collection of samples and contributing to a micro-plastics survey in the Sound and participating in real conservation activities.

KAY MADÈRE

Ottawa, ON

Student outreach on college campus inspiring them to join the Green Leaders program on campus, along with in-classroom education.

“The thing I enjoyed most about the program was deeply connecting with like-minded people around the country who shared the same passion for conservation and getting outside as I did. You spend so much time with each other in the first stage, you build real meaningful relationships. My other favourite part had to be travelling to all the new and exciting places in Canada I had never been.“
