What conservation issue is closest to your heart?
Water conservation, deforestation, resource depletion and pollution. As human beings, we have a responsibility to protect our lands now and for future generations.
What are you hoping to learn from CCC?
My expectations are that I will learn a lot about how to protect our environment, to make new friends and to challenge myself to go beyond what I’m used to. I’ve definitely excited to learn about the wildlife in different parts of Canada.
Who/what inspired you to care about conservation?
My father inspired me first to care about our environment. He started recycling and composting when I was small. Today, I’m inspired by the efforts made by people to take small or large steps in protecting our environment.
If you could sit down with anyone in the world and have tea or coffee, who would it be? And why?
I would choose Sir Ken Robinson because I would love to chat with him about his thoughts on creativity and education, and ask him how we can incorporate the arts, environmental education and existing curriculum together for the young people in schools of tomorrow.

My Experience So Far

Rambling Through the Rocky Mountains

Stage 1

The group dubbed “The Mountain Goats” will enjoy a challenging journey of self-discovery and exploration, hiking through the terrain of the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains. They will travel distances each day, sharing responsibilities including campsite management, cooking, navigation and group leadership as they follow the footsteps of inspired artists and adventurers, seekers and sages. This is more than learning the technical skills of backpacking – this is an adventure designed to illustrate why the wilderness environment is the best teacher.
