Purpose of the Endowment Fund
The purpose of the Manitoba Wildlife Fellowship Endowment Fund is to provide financial assistance, based on the criteria and academic performance, to support research students (Canadian Citizens and permanent residents of Canada).
This fund was created by CWF, Dr. Jillian Elizabeth Oakes and Dr. Douglas Schindler and launched in 2025.
Amount of Bursary
The value of the IMWFEF is up to a maximum of $5,000 but may exceed this amount upon the discretion of the Canadian Wildlife Foundation. The final amount of the fund will be determined by the Canadian Wildlife Foundation based on the relevance and merits of the proposed application and the amount of financial assistance available in a given year.
Eligibility
This fund is offered to high school, undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students who are enrolled in a Manitoba-based college or university that is recognized by the Canadian Wildlife Foundation. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, refugees, or permanent residents of Canada. Students must be undertaking research concerning the conservation of wildlife in Northern Manitoba (Canadian boreal forest and/or arctic environments).
Former recipients of the IMWFEF are not eligible to re-apply.
