The Canadian Wildlife Federation’s Walk for Wildlife is a national campaign encouraing people of all ages to get outside, connect with nature and learn about wildlife. National Wildlife Week (NWW) runs April 10th – 16th, 2016 and this year we are focusing on our winged creatures. From birds to bees to butterflies, we are “Giving Wings to Wildlife Conservation”. On Friday, April 15, schools from across Canada celebrate NWW during the 7th annual Walk for Wildlife. It’s a great start to spring designed to get youth outside while supporting a very important cause: conserving Canadian wildlife.

Fundraising Ideas

We have TONS of ideas to help you fundraise. Our WalkForWildlife.ca website make it easy for your class to fundraise online or offline. Simply register Fundraising initiatives can extend beyond the date of the walk April 15, 2016. Here’s just a few ideas you could include:

  • Have your class sell our official NWW Adopt-An-Animal stuffed animal. Each adoption kit sells for $35 and includes a $20 tax receipt. This is a great way to get your class involved and to make a difference for wildlife in Canada. All funds from the stuffed animal sales goes to helped Species at Risk
  • Host a school breakfast
  • Host a school dance
  • Develop a Wildlife Wednesday day for donating
  • Approach “green“businesses in your area and get them involved in supporting your fundraising efforts
