- What conservation issue is closest to your heart?
- The destruction of nature for the sake of economic activities is what touches me the most. There are too many projects that don’t take environment protection into account, and I think that companies should make more effort to reduce their environmental footprint – or at least compensate nature for what they take from it.
- What are you hoping to learn from CCC?
- I’m hoping to experience the true Canadian outdoors while learning about conservation, endangered species in Canada, sustainable development and to discover how I can do more to protect our fauna and flora.
- Who/what inspired you to care about conservation?
- I started to be environmentally conscious in high school after watching a documentary describing how a particular company’s activities were poisoning the environment, destroying biodiversity and ruining the lives of poor farmers. Since then I’ve done my best to try to diminish my environmental footprint and encourage my peers to do the same.
- If you could sit down with anyone in the world and have tea or coffee, who would it be? And why?
- Al Gore is a knowledgeable person when it comes to environmental protection. I believe that he could teach me a lot about what I could do individually and professionally to help save our planet. He could maybe even inspire me to start my own project or give me a job!
