Marian Fulton lives in the small town of Hantsport. Her one-acre property may look like a typical garden at a glance, but it is much more. Marian and her son, Ashley, spent several years consciously working with nature to create a haven for wildlife.
I started to "Naturescape" about 12 years ago when we bought this house in suburban Chilliwack. I am a country girl at heart, and the daughter of a master gardener, so wildlife and gardening have always been a part of my life. When we moved from farm country, the first thing I noticed beyond the noise was a lack of variety of species, so I decided to amend the situation.
Many Canadians are recognizing the connection between our well being, the land we live on and the wild neighbours we share it with. This awareness is prompting more and more people to garden in an environmentally friendly way and to use native plants.
