Toronto, ON April 1, 2016: No joke. Actor and comedian Martin Short is performing at the CWF Goose Gala April 14 at the Four Seasons in Toronto to help Give Wings to Wildlife Conservation.
Her Honor, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell, will join Canadian Wildlife Foundation Chair, Dr. J. Bernard Gosevitz, among other influential members of the Toronto community. Sports broadcaster Brian Williams will serve as the Master of Ceremonies at this National Wildlife Week event. Supermodel Yasmin Warsame, ambassador for National Wildlife Week, will also be in attendance along with other celebrities and political leaders.
The theme for National Wildlife Week April 10-16 is Giving Wings to Wildlife Conservation in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Birds Convention between Canada and the United States. During National Wildlife Week, the Canadian Wildlife Federation is raising awareness of the issues facing winged wildlife like birds, butterflies, bees and bats, many of which are at risk due to threats including climate change, impacts from pesticides and habitat loss.
Proceeds from the Goose Gala will support the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s on-going conservation efforts within Canada particularly the Wild by Nature program.
