Ottawa – Nov 24, 2015 – This holiday season the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) is inspiring people to help make the wild wishes of children come true – by giving them more butterflies to chase, more trees to climb, more playtime outdoors and more things to help create a brighter future for wildlife.
“Holiday Wishes…Kid Style” is the theme of CWF’s 2015 seasonal giving campaign. It features a new PSA entitled “CWF Holiday Wishes,” which is now running nationally on radio and TV and extending to both web and social media platforms. The PSA features children making wildlife wishes for the benefit of all Canadians. The PSA video and audio can be downloaded with the links below or at GiveaGifttoWildlife.ca.
The GiveaGifttoWildlife.ca website is an interactive platform that showcases all the ways CWF puts donations to use conserving Canadian wildlife and habitats. With its 100 percent Canadian focus, CWF was named one of Canada’s Top 25 charities by Financial Post magazine. During the holiday campaign, donations made in support of the CWF Holiday Wishes campaign will be matched up to $25,000, thanks to a generous bequest made by long-time CWF supporter Renee Taillefer. Great gift ideas at the CWF shop include symbolically adopting animals like the polar bear, moose or beaver through the CWF Adopt-A-Species program, with proceeds helping support important wildlife conservation initiatives. Everyone can share their own special wildlife wishes by sending downloadable e-cards to friends, family and colleagues.
“As the father of a young girl, I want to make certain that she has the opportunity to enjoy all the wonderful outdoor and wildlife experiences I enjoyed in my childhood. This is the wish I have for my daughter and for all kids in Canada,” said Wade Luzny, CWF CEO and Executive Vice-President. “I invite Canadians to join CWF in our efforts to keep our magnificent wildlife and wild spaces a cherished part of our country for generations to come.”
