- Hometown:
- Born in Thailand, but calls Vancouver/Salt Spring Island home
- What conservation issue is closest to your heart?
- The lack of appreciation for small things, like having a clean park, having access to the “wilderness.” The intersection between urbane culture and wilderness management interests me. The conservation issues I care most about are tied up in social ones.
- What are you hoping to learn from CCC?
- I want to learn how to be comfortable taking others on longer wilderness trips. I expect to learn practical skills, leadership techniques, safety and all this in relation to a wilderness setting and large group.
- Who/what inspired you to care about conservation?
- Having an unconventional childhood playing in nature and moving between cultures has nurtured my love for the environment. Seeing people in both in SE ASIA and Canada lacking that appreciation and fire for what the land can give in terms of sustainable agriculture, tourism and self-growth is frustrating.
- If you could sit down with anyone in the world and have tea or coffee, who would it be? And why?
- Jacinda Ardern is on my list of people I would love to run into and chat with. The Prime Minister of New Zealand just is very neat as a person and as a political figure in this climate.
